Easy Sundays

Hi guys,

As you know I live in the amazing city of San Francisco, CA. From the diverse people and food, to the history engulfing every inch of the city, it’s easy to say I LOVE WHERE I LIVE.

Sunday’s in our house are used for meal prepping as well as errand running and taking it easy. Our day ALWAYS starts off at Equinox- our gym. From there we get any errands out of the way and this week we made a couple must see stops around North Beach (aka Little Italy)

We enjoy the way Europeans live, with a slower pace in their life. We stopped at Cafe Trieste, in the heart of Little Italy for an afternoon coffee. We just sat and talked… no technology. And we didn’t drink the coffee to just drink it. We enjoyed each other’s company, and that is something that I think many relationships lack. Everyone gets so caught up in the moment that they forget why we all fell in love in the first place.

We also took a detour to Candlelight Books. One of my favorite books is Inferno by Dante and at the entrance to the store they have a quote that says, “Abandon all despair, Ye who enter here” which I thought to be quite charming especially if you are familiar with the actual quote from Inferno.

If you make your Sunday’s fun instead of dreading Monday, life gets a lot more interesting. Stay tuned for my post tomorrow about meal preppy- I know super adulty.

Wishing you all happiness,

Tay

What I’m Reading- “Sleeping Beauties”

Sleeping Beauties is written by none other than Stephen King and his brother Owen King.

It is about 800 pages long, so hang in there for the review on this one because I’m not sure how long it is going to take me to finish it!

I am about 300 pages in and the characters the authors have built are fascinating and so deep. The plot keeps you up at night, but it’s Stephen King so what was I really expecting?

I’ll keep turning pages,

Tay

“The Girl On The Train” – Review

I would give the book a solid 4/5 stars. I’m a sucker for an unreliable narrator, let alone multiple. The beginning was a little slow, but the end was totally worth it.

I won’t ruin it with any spoilers for those of you who haven’t read it.

The movie… all I have to say is holy EMILY BLUNT IS AMAZING. The cinematography and the rest of the cast were very below average but she stole the show.

Happy reading,

Tay

What I’m Reading- “The Girl On The Train”

I know… I’m late to the party on this one! I haven’t seen the movie, but I just read Into The Water by Paula Hawkins, so I figured I would just hop on the train.

Pun intended!

I think the best part of this entire situation is the fact that I bought the book at one of the first book stores in Santorini- Atlantis Books.

And, to top it all off and make it official, they even put a stamp marking their store on the inside of my book! So nerdy and so happy!

Happy Page Turning,

Tay

The Girl In The Ice – Book Review

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was 5 star quality all the way. It was a classic murder mystery / thriller, with a bad ass female character as the main protagonist. It was well written, with an interesting plot- which I’m really picky about. I feel like almost every James Patterson novel is a little been there done that. It’s like the chicken and the egg questions. Did James Patterson write this first, or did criminal mind do an episode on it first or vice a versa.

I have read my fair share of true crime and murder novels. I love novels about serial killers, no idea why, so I am VERY critical about plots and characters.

This book has an incredible twist and I devoured it in one day, which totally sucks because I’ve run out of books to read on vacation!

Happy Page Turning,

Tay

Into The Water Review

I finished Into the Water yesterday and I was underwhelmed. I think it’s written well, but I guess it just wasn’t my cup of tea. The plot progressed rather slowly, and because she switched between character so much, it was harder to keep the plot like linear in my head… but that could just be a personal thing hahaha.

Regardless, If you’re in the market for a good mystery novel, you should pick up a copy.

I guess I’m more of a thriller / horror type of gal.

Mykonos Day 2

Today was the most incredible beach day ever. I mean I must have been in paradise. We went to a beach club called Pinky Beach! The chairs were incredible, the service was excellent, and the water was perfect.

We bought an inflatable swan to swim in the ocean with from the local market! Everyone thought we looked ridiculous but it was the best part of the day.

I also finished my book, Into The Water, and I have to say… it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t a book I could not put down. I found myself having to force myself to open it with the hopes of maybe becoming more intrenched in the plot. Great twist at the end though!

Here are some photos from the day!

Current Read- Into the Water

Hey guys!

So I have a section on my blog devoted 100 percent to my current reads. It is mostly self help books, and true crime / murder/ mystery novels, just warning you in advance.

My latest is called Into the Water by Paula Hawkins who is the author of The Girl On The Train.

I will let you know how it goes as I progress through the chapters, and I will make sure to not disclose any major spoilers. If you are reading this book too, please leave a comment so we can discuss!

Happy page turning,

Tay
